My husband, David, and I grew up in Texas. We have a 12-year-old daughter, Madeline.
In 1990, when my husband David joined the United States Air Force, we moved to Clovis, New Mexico for the first of our six assignments. (New Mexico, Azores, Mississippi, Nebraska, Maryland, and now back to the beautiful hill country of Texas.)
Wellspring Suri Alpacas, LLC is a member of AOBA, AFCNA (Alpaca Fiber Cooperative of North America), Suri Network, STAR (State of Texas Alpaca Ranchers), and TxOLAN.
Currently I am serving on the Board of Directors of the AFCNA, as Suri Liaison to the Suri Network, and on the Board of Directors of STAR, in the capacity of VP of Communications...
I feel strongly that the more alpaca breeders give back to the industry in whatever capacity they can or choose, the better it is for the entire industry, both short-term and long-term. I have made wonderful friends by simply volunteering at shows, visiting other farms and ranches, joining all the applicable affiliates, and this year, serving on the two Boards. I very much enjoy the work and time spent contributing to the alpaca industry!
